Board of Directors

NAL has been a leader in establishing good corporate governance practices which are designed to align the interests of management and shareholders. The Board of Directors meets a minimum of five times per year to supervise the management of the business and affairs of NAL Energy Corporation.

Irvine J. Koop(1)(2)(3) , ,

Mr. Koop is Chairman of the Board of NAL Energy Corporation. From 2001 to 2008 he was Chairman and CEO of IKO Resources Inc. From 1996 to 2001 Mr. Koop was a Senior Executive with Westcoast Energy Inc., from where he retired in 2001 as Executive Vice President, President and CEO, Pipelines and Midstream. From 1993 to 1995 he was President and Chief Executive Officer of Numac Energy Inc., an exploration and production company. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manitoba and has completed the Advanced Management Program at the Wharton School of Business. Mr. Koop is a past Director of Compton Petroleum Corporation (1996 to 2011) and a past Chair of the Canadian Energy Research Institute. He was the inaugural Chairman of CAPP in 1991.

Gordon S. Lackenbauer(1)(2)(3)(4) , ,

Mr. Lackenbauer was Deputy Chairman of BMO Nesbitt Burns, and brings significant financial expertise to his position, including a background in energy, capital markets and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Lackenbauer is a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Loyola College, as well as a Master of Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario. He currently serves as a Director of TransAlta Corporation.

Barry D. Stewart(1)(2)(3)(4) , ,

Mr. Stewart is a retired petroleum executive. Previously, Mr. Stewart was Executive Vice President, In-Situ and International Oil of Suncor Energy Inc. from 2000 to 2001, and from 1991 to 1999 he was Executive Vice President, Exploration & Production with Suncor Energy Inc. Mr. Stewart has a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics from Queen's University. He is Director and Chairman of Newalta Corporation.

Donald R. Ingram(1)(2)(3)(4) , ,

Mr. Ingram is a retired petroleum executive. Most recently, he was Senior Vice President, Midstream and Refined Products with Husky Energy. Mr. Ingram has more than 30 years of experience in heavy oil refining, upgrading, marketing, trading, logistics, pipelines and mergers and acquisitions. He became a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) in 1971 and was made a Fellow of the Society of Management Accountants of Canada in 1999. Mr. Ingram is also a Director and Chairman of Silver Birch Energy Corporation. He is a Director of Gibson Energy and the Calgary Airport Authority. As well, he is the former Chairman and Director of Sultran Ltd., and former Director of the Canadian Petroleum Products Institute. He is Life Director of the Calgary Booster Club and Honourary Life Member of the Calgary Olympic Development Association and is a founding member of the Mount Royal College Foundation.

Kelvin B. Johnston(1)(2)(3) , ,

Mr. Johnston is an executive with more than 25 years of experience as founder, President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of various public and private companies in Canada. Mr. Johnston has been President of Wylander Crude Corp., a private oil and gas company, since July 2006, and Vice President, Corporate Development of Lakeview Energy Ltd., a private oil and gas company, since June 2009. From July 2005 until June 2009, Mr. Johnston was President and Chief Executive Officer of Alberta Clipper Energy Inc., an oil and gas company. From May 2004 to July 2005, Mr. Johnston was Vice-President, Exploration of Thunder Energy Ltd., an oil and gas company. Prior thereto, Mr. Johnston served in various senior technical, executive and board capacities at Husky Oil Ltd., Startech Energy Inc., Impact Energy Inc., Mustang Resources Ltd. and Peerless Energy Inc. Mr. Johnston possesses a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) degree in Geology from the University of Manitoba and a Masters degree in Economics from the University of Calgary. He currently serves as a Director of the Small Explorers and Producers Association of Canada (SEPAC).

William J. Eeuwes , ,

Mr. Eeuwes currently holds the position of Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Manulife Capital, a division of The Manufacturers Life Insurance Company. He has executive responsibility for leading Manulife’s Canadian Private Equity, Project Finance and Infrastructure, Hydraulic Power Development, and oil & gas teams. He has 30 years of experience in private equity, project finance and corporate banking. He is a graduate of the Richard Ivey School of Business of the University of Western Ontario. He is a Director of Canaccord Financial Inc. and a past Director of MATRIX Asset Management Inc. and VFC Inc. and is a Director of several other private companies.

Andrew B. Wiswell , , , President and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Wiswell earned his B.A. 1971 and LLB (Law) 1974 degrees from the University of Manitoba. He practiced corporate and commercial law, completed an MBA at the University of Western Ontario in 1980 and joined Gulf Canada Resources Limited. He spent 16 years at Gulf Canada, which included key roles as Vice President Marketing, Oil Sands and Frontiers and Senior Vice President Finance and Chief Financial Officer. As CFO, Mr. Wiswell was actively involved in corporate strategy, equity and debt financings, acquisitions and divestments, investor relations and organizational restructuring and change. After his tenure at Gulf, Mr. Wiswell joined ICG Propane as President, where he revitalized the business leading to the sale of the company. In December 2001, he joined Parkland Industries Ltd. as President and CEO. At Parkland, he led Parkland's conversion to an income trust in June 2002, completed restructuring and enhancement of the company's performance. In May 2005, Mr. Wiswell joined NAL as President & CEO and has led the process of change in people, assets and opportunities to position NAL for conversion to a dividend paying E&P corporation on December 31, 2010. From April 2009 to March 2010, Mr. Wiswell served as Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP).
