Production Engineer, two positions
 

One-year Contract
The Production Engineer is responsible for setting and delivering base production and unit OPEX targets for Eastern Business Unit assets located in Alberta. You will budget and track asset performance relative to production and operating expense targets and work with Operations staff to reduce overall well workover costs. The successful candidate will also project manage well tie-ins and pipeline routing recommendations and specifications according to the ERCB and NAL guidelines.

You possess strong team, interpersonal, negotiation and leadership skills. The successful candidate will have the ability to assess and communicate business improvement opportunities. Surface and subsurface operations experience and knowledge of rod pumping systems including rod design and pump jack design is required. Field experience will be considered an asset.

Full-time Position
The Senior Production Engineer is responsible for setting and delivering base production and unit operating cost targets for the Northern Business Unit assets located in Alberta and British Columbia. This role also significantly contributes to the business unit capital investment program, having responsibility for planning and implementing field facility work such as equip and tie-in of new wells, facility expansion assessments, etc. Operational troubleshooting and optimization, both surface and sub-surface, is a further requirement for this role.

The successful candidate will possess strong leadership and organizational skills, with a strong ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. You will liaise effectively between the Calgary office and field office staff, and have the skills to assess and communicate business improvement opportunities. A strong background in field operations is required, along with a strong understanding of operating and financial performance measures. Experience in subsurface maintenance, artificial lift design, and workover operations will be considered an asset.

To qualify for either position, you have a minimum of six years of related oil and gas experience from wellhead to sales.
