During the third quarter of 2009, the Trust’s daily average trading volume was 439,319 up from a daily average volume of 380,141 in the same period one year ago. The Trust currently has 137.1 million units outstanding and is widely held with approximately 30,000 unitholders across Canada and the United States. Approximately 68 percent are residents of Canada and 32 percent are non-residents. Retail investors hold about 59 percent of the units with the balance owned by institutional investors such as mutual funds, pension funds and portfolio managers.
NAL Oil & Gas Trust qualifies under the Canadian Income Tax Act as a mutual fund trust. Units of the Trust qualify as investments for Registered Retirement Savings Plans (RRSPs), Registered Education Savings Plans (RESPs), Deferred Profit Sharing Plans (DPSPs) and Registered Retirement Income Funds (RRIFs).
